The Harstad Scholarship for Young Artists encourages continued development in the performing and creative arts by youth through financial support toward participation in an arts program beyond their current program of study.

The Harstad Fine Arts Series (HFAS) board offers an annual Scholarship for Young Artists contest that grants an award total of up to $3,000. Total award sum will be awarded to one or split amongst several applicants, but not more than three (3) applicants, to be used towards furthering their arts education in the areas of music, visual arts, and dance.

Thanks to all of the 2020 HFAS Scholarship Applicants last year! The panel was excited at the variety and level of performances.

The 2020 winners were Luise Wendroth (violin) and Jenny Lee (piano)!

Despite upheaval and chaos through this academic semester and that will no doubt continue into the summer, that these musicians continue to study, work, and put forth their talents.

Since we weren’t able to host our fall scholarship concert, we will feature both Luise and Jenny here. Check our interviews with Luise here and Jenny Lee.
